In Swahili, kiota means “nest.”
Kiota II is an evolution of the original Kiota ring, inspired by African birds and the instinctive architecture of their nests.
This version introduces stones sourced in small quantities from collectors in Namibia, my home country. I work with what is available at the time, rather than sourcing stones to a fixed colour or specification. Because of this, the colour, cut and character of the stones change from one release to the next.
Every Kiota II is also formed entirely by hand, without the use of a mould. The metal is built around each ring individually, allowing differences in its shape, texture and proportions to remain part of the finished piece. No two Kiota rings are identical.
Each available ring is therefore one of a kind. Once a particular Kiota II is sold, that exact combination of stone and form will not be reproduced. New pieces are released according to the materials available at the time of making.
Crafted from soft, lead-free metals (Tin 95%, Silver 5%, and Copper). The material is nickel-free, and the ring is lightweight enough for everyday wear, either alone or stacked with other Kiota forms.
